To freshen things up, for the first time Top of the North, NZ breweries will be joining MarchFest in 2018. We'll be serving 22 brand new beers, a record number.

Good Afternoon / Super-hopped Pale Ale, 4.5%​​
Tropical flavours bursting from the heavy late hop additions and generous dryhopping.  Good afternoon conviviality.
Morning Wood / Ale, 5.5%​​
This beer is a straw yellow ale with mild bitterness and flowery hop aroma.

Hopful / IPA, 5.2%

Citrus overtones from Kohatu + our own special hop in the boil + Nelson Sauvin snap frozen green last harvest.   
Sweet As / APA (Aotearoa Pale Ale), 6%
Kiwi summer fruits up front, this APA has a medium body and an easy finish. It's just Sweet As!!
Triple A / American Ale, 5.2%
Lashings of tropical, citrusy fruitiness from US hops.  An appetising, satisfying well-earned glass of fruit & carbs!
Greenback APA / American Pale Ale (APA), 5.7%
Late & dry hopped with El Dorado = strong citrus/ tropical fruits: this beer is all aroma & flavour, not bitterness. Enjoy!
Cherry Popper / Cherry Berliner Weisse, 4%
Kettle soured cherry with a tantalising dry finish. The cherry will dance on your taste buds like a Swan Lake ballerina.
The Green Eyed Pig / Herb and Spice, 6%
​lightly hopped & flavoured with fresh picked manuka + another
​hop-related herb that flourishes in Golden Bay!

Mr Giblin / Fresh Hopped IPA, 5.5%
Brewer Gary Giblin is hanging up his gumboots – this fresh hopped IPA is the perfect toast to Gary’s years of brewing!
Ace of Spades / Bourbon Aged Stout, 6.5%
Hand Pumped - Rich, deep, dark, sumptuous with hints of vanilla and oak.
PO Box Pale / Pale Ale, 5.5%
​We kept the Nelson PO box open, it’s great to be back: El Dorado, Citra & Mosaic, big tropical fruit.. get amongst it!

Tasty AF/ American Brown Ale, 6.5%

Our tribute to Mike "Tasty" McDole's award-winning "Janet's Brown", Tasty AF is all about the malt AND the hops. 
Juicy As / Hazy IPA, 6.2%
Big mix of NZ & US hops + pale malt wheat & oats. Aromas/flavours include mango, pineapple, gooseberry and spice.    
Fallen Empire / New England IPA, 6%
Hand pumped - Papayas & mangos on the nose, equally fruity on the palate. Nice fat mouthfeel from 2 types of oats in the grain bill. 
Espresso Scotch Ale / Scotch Ale, 6.5%
Copper-ruby coloured with zesty caffeine on a solid malt platform: toffee, caramel, roasted beans, tobacco and more..
Big in Belgium / Dubbel, 6.5%
A colab with Swedish brewers, Electric Nurse. A kiwi malt base made international by adding liquorice & raspberries. 
North Moutere Vienna / Vienna Lager, 5.2%
Amber in colour and bright. Aromas of soft fruits and big grassy hoppiness, drinks dry with a bready, malty finish. 
Matakana Weisse / (Blackberry & Kawa Kawa sour wheat), 4.2%
A tart, wheat beer celebrating Matakana blackberries & the Kawa Kawa (Bush Basil) plant. Complex and moreish.
Thug Juice / Dry Hopped Mosiac Pilsner, 5.5%
Full-bodied pils brewed using German Heritage malt ‘Barke’’. Mosaic dry hopped. Juicy fruit throughout + long finish.
Hop Oil NZ IPA / IPA with Nelson Sauvin hop oil, 5.8%
Dank grapefruit & passionfruit aroma coupled with resinous tropical Nelson Sauvin to blow your tastebuds away.
Celery Salt Hippy / Celery Gose 4%
Refreshingly sour & dry hopped. Very fruity, almost zesty and balanced with subtle savoury notes of celery and salt.
Love and Affection / IPA, 6.4%
We submerged a 40kg Amethyst geode & had the wort run over it. Beer charged by the energy of a precious gemstone!

Low Alcohol Beer

Low Tide/ Low alcohol Pale Ale, 2.4%

This year's Marchfest low alcohol offering is a Pale Ale.  Aromatic NZ hops and a nice malty body.

MarchFest has received sponsorship funding for this year’s event from the Nelson Events Marketing & Development Programme, which is funded by the Nelson City Council. The Programme’s objective is to stimulate Nelson City’s economy in the shoulder and off seasons by bringing new spending through visitors coming to Nelson for distinct events.
