MarchFest 2018 – Our biggest yet!
Great music, food, kids fun and of course proper beer
Recognised as one of the flagship New Zealand beer festivals, the 11th Marchfest on Saturday 24th of March 2018 is shaping up to be our biggest yet. MarchFest 2018 will include 10 regional craft breweries and to freshen things up, for the first time we have invited a guest region to brew new craft beers for the event, featuring Top of the North breweries, 8Wired, Epic, McCleod’s, Deep Creek, Outlier Cartel, Urbanaut, Hallertau, Sawmill, Behemoth and Liberty.
With two real ales, this will take the total number of brand new craft beers to 22, a record number.
Great live music is always a big feature of MarchFest, the strong line up for 2018 headlines with ‘the reigning queen of Aotearoa soul’ Hollie Smith. Also playing their hearts out will be world/electronica band Weird Together, Kiwi indie-folk legend Mel Parsons, Wellington alt.country band The Miltones, electroacoustic folk-funk act Sonic Delusion, touring Canadian blues/roots resonator guitarist Joel Fafard and local hi-energy rockers, The Immigrants.
And unlike other New Zealand beer festivals, MarchFest is not just about craft beer, it’s about delicious food, local wine and ciders, brewing demonstrations, a food and beer matching lunch, children’s entertainment and more.
MarchFest is the keynote event of Nelson Beer Week (NBW) now in its second year and runs from 17-25th of March 2018. Check out www.nbw.co.nz for all 9 days of fun beer-related events. For craft beer lovers, Marchfest bookends the New Zealand HomeBrewers’ Conference during the weekend of March 23-25th.
